DWLM is characterized by a malformation of the cerebellum which leads to disorders and failures of body functions that are controlled by it. The first clinical symptoms may include various forms of ataxia, loss of balance, epileptic seizures, tremor, reduced or absent reflexes, subtle high stepping gait and abnormal eye movements.
