For me, who hasn't really ventured into very sweet wines like Port, it has the perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. As with most wines that are oxidized during production, the great advantage here is that you can sip from an opened bottle for months without any loss of quality. At least if the wine surprisingly lasts that long. Also wonderful with cheese, featuring aromas of dried apricot, fig, and nuts, to name just a few.
